It's amazing how far technology has come since my daughter was Caleigh's age. We had Apple computers as she grew up but nothing back then - in the 80s and 90s compare to what is available nowadays.

Your blog reminds me of the daily challenges we had. Never give up. Our main goal was to see Shari walk onto the kindergarten school bus. She did with her walker. She walked to the stage to accept her high school diploma and has completed nearly all her classes needed to graduate from college. Shari is 25 now and is very active in advocating for disability rights.

You honestly wouldn't believe it that I was reading the local paper today (in Australia) and there was a small piece about a girl called Cayleigh Grey who uses an Ipad with a speech app.

The news has gone international.

Jacqui, If you haven't thrown the paper away, we would love for you to send it to us! Let me know :-)

Sorry Holly. The paper wasn't actually mine. I was reading it in a cafe. I should have asked if I could cut the story out! I'll ask around to see if anyone still has that paper.

AMAZING! You must be so proud! You have done a fantastic job helping Caleigh gain the skills that she needs! I already thought your blog was a great way to spread the word to other parents, but now that message is world wide. Woo hoo!
